You want to cancel your Swisscom plan, but you don't know exactly how, what notice periods apply, and whether you can get out of the contract early? This guide explains everything you need to know.
If Swisscom unilaterally raises prices, you have the legal right to extraordinary, free cancellation, even during a running minimum contract term. After the price increase on 1 April 2026 (+CHF 1.90/month), you could cancel free of charge until 31 March 2026. The same principle applies to every future price increase.
If you don't have a plan with a minimum contract term (or your minimum term has already expired), you can cancel any time, with a 60 day notice period to the end of the month.
Example: if you cancel on 15 April, your plan ends on 30 June.
Swisscom offers many plans with a 12 or 24 month minimum term, often combined with a subsidised smartphone. Strict rules apply here:
Exception: the special termination right, more on that below.
This is the most important point for many Swisscom customers.
If Swisscom unilaterally changes contract conditions to your disadvantage, for example by raising prices, you get the legal right to cancel your contract extraordinarily and free of charge, even if it's still running.
Concretely in 2026: Swisscom raised prices on all blue Mobile plans by CHF 1.90/month effective 1 April 2026. Affected customers had the right to cancel free of charge until 31 March 2026.
The principle applies generally: if Swisscom raises prices or downgrades services again in the future, you'll have the special termination right again. Keep an eye out, and sign up for our free price alert on handyabo.com to be notified immediately.
Call 0800 800 800 (free, Mon to Fri 8 to 20, Sat 9 to 17)
Have your customer number or mobile number ready
Tell them you want to cancel the plan, name the desired cancellation date
Request a written cancellation confirmation by email or letter
Tip: note the date, time and the name of the agent. If there are any unclear points later, you have proof.
For running contracts or if you want to be on the safe side, registered letter is the most reliable method:
Send the letter by registered mail to: Swisscom AG, Kundendienst, Postfach, 3050 Bern.
For plans without a minimum term, you can also initiate the cancellation digitally:
Log in to the My Swisscom app or at my.swisscom.ch
Go to «My plan» → «Contract details»
Look for the option «Cancel plan» or «Adjust plan»
Follow the steps and save a confirmation by email
Note: not all cancellation types are available online. For special cancellations or running contracts, we recommend phone or written cancellation.
If you want to keep your mobile number (which almost everyone does), you have to port it separately at the new provider. Never cancel the plan before porting is complete, or you lose the number.
The process is actually simple: you sign up with the new provider and indicate that you want to bring your number. The new provider then handles porting from Swisscom, you don't need to contact Swisscom separately.
The 60 day period applies from the date Swisscom receives the cancellation, not the date on your letter. Plan accordingly.
If you have a Swisscom rented device (for example a router or a smartphone on special terms), you have to return it after cancellation. If you forget, Swisscom will bill you for the device.
If you have internet and mobile combined at Swisscom, the combo discount disappears if you only cancel the mobile plan. Check beforehand how much your home internet costs without the discount. In many cases switching is still worth it, but do the math.
This is the point most people don't know: you don't have to leave Swisscom to pay less.
Wingo is the budget brand of Swisscom and uses the same network, with identical coverage and quality. The only difference is the price:
| Provider | Network | Data | Price/month | Savings vs. Swisscom solo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Swisscom blue Mobile S solo | 🔵 Swisscom | 25 GB | CHF 71.80 | — |
| Swisscom blue Mobile S Combo* | 🔵 Swisscom | 25 GB | CHF 51.80 | — |
| Wingo Swiss Plus | 🔵 Swisscom | unlimited | CHF 25.95 | CHF 45.85/month = CHF 550/year |
| Wingo Swiss Mini | 🔵 Swisscom | 5 GB | CHF 13.95 | CHF 57.85/month = CHF 694/year |
| spusu 10 | ☀️ Sunrise | 10 GB | CHF 9.90 | CHF 61.90/month = CHF 743/year |
| Digital Republic Flat Swiss | ☀️ Sunrise | unlimited | CHF 13.00 | CHF 58.80/month = CHF 706/year |
*Combo price applies only with a Swisscom blue Internet plan. Even with the combo discount (CHF 51.80), Wingo Swiss Plus saves CHF 310/year.
Bottom line: anyone switching from standalone Swisscom blue Mobile to Wingo Swiss Plus pays CHF 550 less per year on the exact same network, and gets unlimited data instead of 25 GB. Anyone willing to switch to the Sunrise network saves even more.
Wingo and Digital Republic use the same top networks as Swisscom and Sunrise, just without the markup for brand, shops and advertising. Same quality, half the price.
For simple plans without a minimum term, yes, via the My Swisscom app or website. For running contracts we recommend cancelling in writing by registered letter.
You can take your number to any other Swiss provider (porting). Just sign up with the new provider and indicate that you want to keep your number. Porting usually takes 1 to 3 working days.
The notice period is 60 days to the end of the month. With special termination rights the cancellation can take effect sooner.
The special termination right lets you cancel your contract early and free of charge if Swisscom unilaterally changes conditions to your disadvantage, typically with price increases. It is not automatic, you must actively invoke it.
Yes. Wingo is a different provider (a Swisscom subsidiary), but porting your number works exactly the same way. You sign up with Wingo, indicate that you want to bring your number, and Wingo handles the rest. Note: Wingo charges a one-time activation fee of CHF 59 that's often waived during promotions.
