Sunrise price increase on 1 August 2026: which plans get pricier and what you can do now
On 1 August 2026, Sunrise will raise the prices of 12 mobile plans by CHF 0.75 to CHF 1.50. Sunrise frames the change like this: 'The loyalty discount remains unchanged.' What that really means for your bill, which plans are affected, and what you can do now.
What changes on 1 August 2026
On its official support page "New prices", Sunrise announced the following 12 mobile plans:
| Mobile plan | Old (CHF/mo.) | New (CHF/mo.) | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Swiss Connect Lite | 34.90 | 36.40 | +1.50 |

Over a two-year contract term, the increase adds up to CHF 18 to CHF 36 per plan.
What Sunrise says, and what it really means
Sunrise frames the change as follows:
'The loyalty discount remains unchanged. With 50% combo discounts the increase only affects half of the price paid (+0.75 CHF effective).'
, Sunrise, new prices from 1 August 2026
It sounds friendly: the discount supposedly stays the same. In reality, it means the discount amount in francs is now granted on a higher list price. You effectively pay more.
Example Sunrise Swiss Plus with 50% combo discount:
- Before: list price CHF 30.40, with 50% discount CHF 15.20
- After: list price CHF 31.90, with 50% discount CHF 15.95
- Effective extra cost: +CHF 0.75 per month = +CHF 9 per year
Sunrise is not alone with this mechanic. Salt, TalkTalk, yallo and Lebara are adjusting prices in 2026 along the same pattern. Here is the full analysis.
What can you do now?
Three options:
Option 1: use the extraordinary right of termination
With any unilateral change to the contract you have a statutory extraordinary right of termination of 30 days from the announcement. Sunrise informs customers from 1 June 2026 and accepts terminations until 31 July 2026 at the latest.
How to proceed:
- Keep Sunrise's notice (it shows the announcement date)
- Send written termination to Sunrise, referencing the extraordinary right of termination
- Pick a new provider in parallel, request number porting (free, 1 to 3 business days)
Option 2: stay with Sunrise
If you value Sunrise's network quality and your plan is not heavily affected, you can stay. Most adjustments are moderate (+CHF 0.75 to 1.50). For Young plans the increase is halved thanks to the 50% discount, to +CHF 0.75.
Option 3: switch to a cheaper MVNO on the Sunrise network
10 MVNO providers use the identical Sunrise network. Identical coverage, identical 5G speed, significantly lower price:
| Provider | Plan | Price/mo. | Data | Contract |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Digital Republic | Flat Swiss | CHF 13.00 | Unlimited + 2 GB EU | Monthly contract |
| Aldi Mobile (promo until 31 May) | Swiss Unlimited | CHF 11.90 | Unlimited Switzerland | Monthly contract |
| Galaxus Mobile | CH unlimitiert | CHF 19.00 | Unlimited Switzerland + 5G | Monthly contract |
| swype | Surf Europe | CHF 24.95 | Unlimited + roaming 41 countries | Monthly contract |
| yallo | Smart | CHF 24.90 | Unlimited Switzerland | Monthly contract |
Important: yallo is a Sunrise subsidiary, but has also announced the price increase of 1 August 2026. Anyone who really wants protection from further increases should switch to a Sunrise MVNO that does NOT belong to the Sunrise group. Digital Republic is the most transparent and cheapest choice here.
Especially for roaming travellers: Sunrise Swiss Connect Europe+
Anyone who chose Sunrise for the unlimited EU roaming (Swiss Connect Europe+ for CHF 79.90, with loyalty discount CHF 39.90) has two alternatives:
- swype Surf Europe CHF 24.95, cheaper, Sunrise network, unlimited roaming in 41 countries, base price with no promo risk
- Wingo Europe Pro CHF 35.95, Swisscom network, unlimited EU, base price (Wingo is a Swisscom subsidiary and not affected by the wave)
The Sunrise Swiss Connect Europe+ rises after the adjustment to CHF 81.40 (with the loyalty-discount deal currently at CHF 39.90, expected to climb afterwards).
