Is a Sunrise plan worth it?

Sunrise runs its own network with the fastest 5G in Switzerland and has the broadest roaming portfolio in the country, from the neighbouring countries to the Global flat. In return you pay premium list prices with a discount mechanism: loyalty and combo discounts apply to the list price, and that list price is exactly what rises regularly. From 1 August 2026, 12 mobile plans become CHF 0.75 to 1.50 more expensive, all affected plans here.

Who is Sunrise for?

For frequent travellers and combo customers. Swiss Travel, with unlimited roaming in eight European countries, is the most interesting entry point into the range, but it ties you for 12 months. Only Swiss Travel+ is month to month. The Swiss Connect line is worth it mainly with the combo discount to Sunrise Internet. Anyone who simply wants the Sunrise network gets it much cheaper with MVNOs like Digital Republic, swype or Galaxus Mobile, on the identical network.

Sunrise reviews: top network, mixed reputation

The network quality is undisputed, repeatedly awarded and strong in cities and countryside alike. Customer reviews paint a different picture: currently 1.4 out of 5 on Trustpilot across more than 5,000 reviews, while the Google ratings of the Sunrise shops are considerably higher at around 3.3. The most common complaint is price increases on running contracts. Good to know: with every unilateral price increase, you have a 30-day extraordinary right of termination.

Sunrise runs two lines. Swiss Connect (Lite, Neighbors, Europe+, Global) comes with a 12 or 24 month commitment. In the Travel line, Swiss Travel ties you for 12 months, and only Swiss Travel+ is month to month. The cheapest is Swiss Travel at CHF 29.90 per month, and the Swiss Connect entry plan is Swiss Connect Lite at CHF 36.40. Three Swiss Connect plans also come in a Young version.
CHF 29.90 per month for Swiss Travel, on a 12 months. That is a promotional price, the regular price is CHF 37 per month. Without a promotion, Swiss Connect Lite at CHF 36.40 is the cheapest way in, but it ties you for 12 months.
No, not on every plan. Swiss Connect Lite is marketed as unlimited but carries a verified high speed cap of 6 GB*; beyond that the speed is throttled, nothing is cut off. On the other Swiss Connect plans and on Swiss Travel the Swiss data allowance really is unlimited. Abroad a cap applies everywhere, see the roaming question below.
It depends on the plan. Swiss Travel+ is month to month, Swiss Travel runs for 12 months, Swiss Connect Lite runs for 12 months, and Swiss Connect Europe+ ties you for 24 months. If you want to stay flexible, take Swiss Travel+.
