Wingo price increase September 2026: +CHF 1 per month, but more EU roaming

What changes from September 2026

Wingo has announced that from September 2026 it will raise all mobile plans by CHF 1 per month. The internet packages (Go, Smart, Pro, Ultra) also go up by CHF 1 per month. As usual with price adjustments, Wingo cites rising costs, but also points to more value.

Because unlike the pure price hikes from TalkTalk, Salt, Sunrise and yallo, Wingo ties the adjustment to a roaming upgrade: the included EU/UK data allowance increases for affected plans. On Wingo Swiss Max it rises from 2 to 8 GB. For customers who use that roaming, this is real added value. Anyone who does not need it simply pays CHF 1 more.

It is Wingo's second increase in two years. Parent company Swisscom already raised all blue Mobile lines by CHF 1.90 in April 2026.

Who is affected, who is not?

Affected: all existing Wingo mobile plans plus the internet packages Go, Smart, Pro and Ultra. The increase takes effect from September 2026.

Not affected, or only partly: Wingo names a few exceptions where the price does not rise. Customers with a lifetime price guarantee can avoid the increase by contacting Wingo by 31 August. Check your contract documents or Wingo's notice to see whether this applies to you.

What can you do now?

Option 1: use the extraordinary right of termination

With a unilateral contract change you have a statutory extraordinary right of termination. Wingo accepts terminations under this adjustment until 31 August. How to proceed:

1. Keep Wingo's notice (it shows the announcement date)
2. Terminate in writing, citing the extraordinary right of termination
3. Choose a new provider in parallel and request free number portability (1 to 3 working days)

Option 2: stay with Wingo

If you actually use the extra EU/UK roaming, the adjustment can pay off: more high-speed volume abroad for CHF 1 more per month. For heavy users on the Swisscom network, Wingo remains attractive. Anyone with a lifetime price guarantee contacts Wingo by 31 August and keeps the old price.

Option 3: switch to a cheaper or better-rated provider on the Swisscom network

Wingo runs on the Swisscom network. The same coverage and 5G quality are available from other providers, often at a stable permanent price rather than a promo:

• Migros Mobile: Swisscom network, fixed permanent prices with no promo games, unlimited in the top plan, plus Cumulus points. No promo expiry.
• Mucho: also the Swisscom network and, in handyabo.com's Peer Score, even rated higher than Swisscom itself (6.3 versus 5.5). Mucho locks in its prices long term instead of raising them.

The context: the fourth price wave of 2026, now at Swisscom's discount brand too

Wingo thus joins a series of adjustments: TalkTalk in May, Salt in June, Sunrise and yallo on 1 August, now Wingo from September. It is striking that the adjustment hits precisely the cheap Swisscom second brand that many customers chose for exactly that low price.

The difference from the other waves: Wingo adds roaming. That makes the increase fairer than a pure price hike, but it does not change the fact that the monthly bill rises. Anyone who does not need the extra roaming should consider switching. Over two years, CHF 1 per month adds up to CHF 24.
