Swiss providers in the 2026 satisfaction check: the big names raise prices, the small ones have the happiest customers

Price increases define the Swiss telecom summer of 2026. After TalkTalk, Salt, Sunrise and yallo, Swisscom's subsidiary Wingo raises prices in September as well. The new Peer Score by handyabo.com, built from real Google and Trustpilot reviews, shows that the providers turning the price screw are the ones landing mid-table or right at the bottom on customer satisfaction. On the Swisscom network, a small provider, Mucho, pulls ahead of the market leader.

The short version

  • The 2026 wave of price rises: after Swisscom (April), TalkTalk (May), Salt (June), Sunrise and yallo (August), Swisscom's subsidiary Wingo turns the price screw in September.
  • The very providers raising their tariffs only reach mid-table or the bottom of the Peer Score. yallo props up the table with 2.6 out of 10.
  • handyabo.com has calculated a Peer Score for all 24 Swiss providers from real Google and Trustpilot reviews, a simple mark from 1 to 10.
  • Mucho uses the Swisscom network and still has happier customers than Swisscom itself: Peer Score 6.3 against 5.5.
  • The happiest customers belong to the small providers: spusu (9.1) and Digital Republic (8.9) lead among the mobile providers, Teleboy (9.3) tops the overall list.
  • Counter-trend: while Wingo raises prices, Mucho has cut them and advertises them as a lifetime discount.

The wave of price rises rolls across Switzerland

Consumers need a thick skin in 2026. The surcharges run through the year like a red thread: Swisscom kicked things off on 1 April with CHF 1.90 per month for around 1.5 million mobile customers, followed by TalkTalk in May, Salt in June and, on 1 August, Sunrise with its second brand yallo. For September, Swisscom subsidiary Wingo has announced the next step, around one franc per month, at least bundled with more roaming. As justification, providers usually cite rising operating costs and network investment.

The 2026 Peer Score shows the other half of the picture: the price rises do not come with outstanding customer satisfaction.

Mucho pulls ahead of Swisscom, on Swisscom's network

Mucho is a small provider and transmits over Swisscom's network. Network quality is therefore identical to the market leader's. On customer satisfaction, though, the two clearly diverge: Mucho reaches 6.3 out of 10 in the Peer Score, Swisscom only 5.5. On Trustpilot, Mucho customers rate their provider 2.5 stars, Swisscom customers give 1.6 on average.

This is not an outlier, it is the pattern running through the whole ranking. A big name is no promise of good service. Anyone who looks only at the brand often pays for recognition, not for satisfaction.

On price, too, the paths diverge: while Wingo raises prices in September, Mucho has cut them. Mucho Swiss currently costs CHF 14.90 instead of 17.90 (list price 49.90), Mucho Nano CHF 3.90. Mucho itself advertises these tariffs as a lifetime discount.

The happiest customers belong to the small providers

There are no corporations at the top of the ranking. Among the pure mobile providers, spusu leads with a Peer Score of 9.1, closely followed by Digital Republic (8.9). Taking all 24 providers together, internet and TV provider Teleboy tops the list with 9.3, ahead of Init7 (8.7) and iWay (8.6).

These are consistently providers that rarely show up in advertising but go down far better with their own customers than the big names. Anyone not tied to a particular provider's network can therefore find providers with happier customers at no extra cost.

The big three only reach mid-table

Swisscom, Sunrise and Salt carry the market and spend the most on advertising. In customer perception, that is only enough for mid-table: Swisscom 5.5, Sunrise 4.7, Salt 4.5. On Google their shops still look decent, on Trustpilot the complaints pile up instead. The Peer Score shows both sides next to each other, rather than picking one.

The bottom of the table goes to yallo (2.6), GoMo (3.2) and Lebara (3.6). Sunrise and yallo raised their prices on 1 August 2026.

Moritz Schmid, telecom expert handyabo.com

'This summer we are seeing a clear decoupling of price and performance. Almost every big brand is raising prices step by step in 2026, whether TalkTalk, Salt, yallo, Sunrise or Wingo. Put the real customer reviews and the Ombudscom statistics next to that and it becomes obvious: higher prices in no way mean happier customers. The Peer Score makes it transparent that smaller providers often offer the more flexible and more personal service, usually for a fraction of the price.'

Moritz Schmid is an expert on Swiss internet and mobile providers. Through his work in mobile outdoor livestream production, he regularly tests and uses SIM cards, data plans and contracts from various providers, at home and abroad.

What this means for customers

The Peer Score does not replace the price, it complements it. A cheap plan from a provider with poor service can get expensive as soon as something goes wrong. That is why the provider's Peer Score sits next to the plan's Deal Score on every provider page and in the calculator.

In practice: anyone who wants to stay on the Swisscom network will find in Mucho an alternative with happier customers. Anyone not tied to a network does well on price and satisfaction at the same time with Digital Republic or spusu.

Anyone affected by a price adjustment usually has an extraordinary right of termination. At Migros, the September adjustment affects older M-Budget contracts that are no longer actively sold; there the deadline runs in August.

Methodology and sources

We average the Google and the Trustpilot rating per provider, weighted by the number of reviews (at most 500 per source, so that no giant dominates the calculation), and bring the result onto a mark from 1 to 10. If a source is missing, we substitute the Swiss industry average (Google 3.4, Trustpilot 2.3). handyabo.com does not collect its own reviews and does not sell placements. A provider improves its score only through better service.

Data basis: the public Google and Trustpilot profiles of all 24 providers, verified on 8 July 2026. Disputes at the official Ombudscom are deliberately left out of the calculation, because they measure something other than everyday satisfaction; they are shown separately in the Ombudscom overview. The formula and all individual values are open on the Peer Score page. If a provider believes a value has been recorded wrongly, we check the source again and correct it if necessary.

Compare providers, with Peer Score and Deal Score

In the calculator, every plan shows its provider's Peer Score next to the plan's Deal Score. Two independent signals, one comparison.
